The art of fashion

I love this dress from the Ruby + Ed spring summer collection. It looks like summer – all those colours, very like one of my favourite paintings, Water lilies, by Monet.

The inspiration for this year’s collection is Van Gogh’s Almond Blossom, which is not a painting I’m familiar with so I had to look it up. And it's beautiful.

There’s lots of printed fabrics, pale watercolour florals and some colour blocking (yes, it’s been around a while, but apparently it is hanging on in there for next season.)

I’m also rather taken with this Ria Silk Smoke Top:

And just in case you think I’m getting too far ahead of myself talking spring summer, I found this lovely fake fur coat in their online sale - it's £139.30 - there’s £59.70 off, a big saving on the original £199 - and it looks so warm I don’t think I’d ever be cold again wearing it. I am definitely tempted. What do you think?
